Privacy policy
Last updated: 25 July 2026
This policy explains how Zamlist (“we”, “us”) handles personal information when you use www.zamlist.com and related services. By using Zamlist, you agree to this policy.
1. Information we collect
- Account data — name, email, phone number, password (stored securely), and OTP verification details when you register or sign in.
- Business data — listing content, contact details, location, photos, and related materials you submit for publication.
- Activity data — favourites, reviews, enquiries, referrals, and ZamPoints activity tied to your account.
- Technical data — IP address, browser type, device information, and cookies or similar technologies used to keep you signed in and improve the service.
2. How we use your information
- Provide, secure, and improve the directory and your account.
- Publish and manage business listings, enquiries, and reviews you choose to submit.
- Operate ZamPoints, referrals, and related rewards features.
- Send service messages (OTP codes, account notices, listing updates). Marketing emails are only sent where you opt in and can be stopped anytime.
- Detect fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
- Comply with applicable Zambian and other legal requirements.
3. Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with:
- Service providers who help us host, send messages, process payments, or analyse usage — under confidentiality obligations.
- Other users, when you publish a listing, review, or enquiry that includes contact details you choose to share.
- Authorities when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the platform.
4. Cookies and sessions
We use essential cookies and session storage to authenticate you, remember preferences, and keep the site secure. You can control cookies in your browser; disabling them may limit some features.
5. Retention and security
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above, including legal and accounting requirements. We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, but no online service is completely risk-free.
6. Your choices
- Update profile details from your account dashboard.
- Request access, correction, or deletion of your personal data by contacting us (subject to legal retention needs).
- Close your account; public reviews or listing content may remain where needed for the directory’s integrity.
7. Children
Zamlist is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of Zamlist after an update means you accept the revised policy.
